What is a Mercedes map activation PIN?

An activation PIN authorizes a particular navigation map update on a compatible system. The map files and the PIN do different jobs: the files contain the road data; the PIN is entered when the navigation system requests authorization. A code by itself does not install map files or add navigation to a vehicle that does not have it.

navi-update sells map PIN generation. The order uses the VIN, navigation generation, region and map version returned by the lookup. Check those details before paying, especially if the head unit has been replaced or retrofitted.

What you receive

  • A digital map PIN for the vehicle and map details shown in checkout.
  • The code on the payment confirmation screen after payment and PIN generation complete successfully.
  • An email confirmation sent to the email address entered at checkout.

Physical USB drives, SD cards, installation labour and navigation hardware are not included. The supported VIN result links to the Mercedes-Benz Download Manager. Select and prepare the matching map package separately using its instructions.

How to order the correct code

  1. Run the VIN check. Use the full 17-character VIN from your vehicle paperwork.
  2. Review the result. Confirm the vehicle, navigation generation, map region and version. For a modified vehicle, compare these with the installed system.
  3. Prepare the matching map files. Use the Download Manager guidance for that package and check its media requirements.
  4. Open “Generate Map PIN”. Review the product and price, enter your billing details, and pay by card or PayPal.
  5. Save the confirmation. Use the PIN when the vehicle asks for it during the matching map update.

How much does a map PIN cost?

The price depends on the navigation generation. Your VIN result shows the available PIN price, and checkout shows the selected currency and estimated total before payment. Applicable VAT and payment charges can affect the final amount. Review the payment total before confirming the purchase.

Which systems are covered?

The online PIN checkout handles NTG 3.5, NTG 4.5, NTG 5, NTG 5.1, NTG 5.5, NTG 6 and NTG 7 products. Availability still depends on the individual vehicle and map package. Read the compatibility overview and system identification guide if you are unsure which unit is installed.

Questions before ordering

Can I reuse the code on another car or map version?

The order is generated from a specific VIN, system, region and version. Do not assume it can activate another combination.

Does this update the infotainment firmware or convert the map region?

This purchase is for map activation. A firmware update, replacement head unit, retrofit or region conversion is a separate job. Contact us before ordering if your installed system differs from the VIN result.

What if payment completes but I do not receive a PIN?

Check the confirmation screen and your email, including spam. Contact support with the order reference before placing another order.

What if the car rejects the code?

Check the VIN, region and map version against the order, then record the exact message on the vehicle screen. Our installation troubleshooting checklist explains what to collect.
