Will a map update work with your Mercedes?
Compatibility depends on the installed navigation system, the map region and the specific version. Check your VIN for the update offered to your vehicle before buying a code or preparing map files.
Navigation generations handled by the online PIN checkout
The service has PIN products for the generations below. This list describes the checkout's product families; it does not mean every car with that generation qualifies for every region or map version.

Catalog checked . The VIN lookup checks the current catalog for your vehicle.
The table shows the final Europe and North America entries from the map catalog. These are catalog labels, not new release dates or a promise of 2026 maps for every system. Other regions may have different versions. Your live VIN result remains the check for an individual vehicle.
If you do not know the generation, use our navigation identification checklist. Buying by C-Class, E-Class, SLK, GLC or another model name alone can miss differences in equipment and hardware.
Read the VIN result before proceeding
An update is available
Review the returned vehicle, navigation generation, region and map version. The result provides the available package and PIN price. Compare it with the installed unit if the vehicle has been modified.
The vehicle is found, but no update is offered
This means the service has not returned an available map update for that VIN. It does not prove that the vehicle can never be updated. Do not buy a PIN for another generation to work around the result; ask support to review it.
No vehicle is found, or the lookup fails
Check the VIN against the vehicle records and retry if the error asks you to. A lookup or CAPTCHA error is not a compatibility decision. Contact support if the full VIN still cannot be checked.
Cases that need an extra check
- Replaced or retrofitted head units: the current hardware may differ from the vehicle's factory configuration.
- Imported cars: the map region may reflect the original market. A map PIN purchase does not perform a region conversion.
- Becker MAP PILOT, Garmin MAP PILOT or NTG 4: these are not listed in this site's online PIN product families. Ask about the correct update path.
- Navigation that is absent or not activated: a map update code does not install navigation hardware or enable a missing navigation feature.
Map regions and versions
Available versions come from the map catalog used by the lookup. Use the region and version returned for the specific car; there is no single “latest Mercedes map” that fits every system. Check the displayed coverage before ordering if you need maps for a particular country.
Download files for the same system and region selected in the order. The package's storage format and installation requirements matter as well as the activation code. Read the installation guide before preparing a USB drive or SD card.
